“Vivacello” Festival 

On the 3rd of November, the performance of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory will open the Fifth Festival «VIVACELLO». One of the world’s famous bands led by Stefan Vladar will mark the beginning of a number of concerts by the eminent musicians that will be performed at the best Moscow sites for a fortnight.

The Festival VIVACELLO will keep the tradition of holding international music events that has existed for several years already. Democratic in terms of the concert format, but sophisticated in terms of the musical performance, this festival is to be of great interest for a wide range of audience.

The festival is traditionally organized by the Cultural and Charitable Foundation U-Art: You and Art, and UNIDENT Group. Previous festivals have proved that VIVACELLO is of great interest for the Moscow audience. From year to year these concerts are attended by an increasing number of spectators. The Art-Director of the festival, cellist Boris Andrianov manages to create an original and invariably surprising program without going beyond the seemingly narrow frameworks of the festival.

This year the autumn cello festival the Moscow audience has already seen several times is ready to surprise again. The list of the celebrities includes Giovanni Sollima, David Geringas, Gianluca Marciano, Alexander Rudin, Alexander Kniazev, Alena Baeva, Terem-Quartet and The State Jazz Music Chamber Orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem.

October 25 through November 12, Moscow welcomed Vivacello International Cello Festival which traditionally enjoyed great success. The best concert venues of the capital city threw open their doors for musicians from across the world and for the appreciative Moscow audience. Each concert was unique and could evoke interest among the most different public. But whatever the format of various concerts, the festival, as a whole, was permeated with special sentiment and exquisite taste, winning wholehearted love of spectators. The proof could be seen in full houses and storms of applause.

From September 27th till October 1st in Moscow has passed the Third international Cello Festival VIVACELLO.

In the year 2010, the second cello festival was held, and this time it was named “VIVACELLO”. The main event of festival was the world premiere of Alexey Ribnikov’s concert for cello and voila, performed by Yuri Bashmet and Boris Andrianov. Another concert was held with the participation of famous English actor - Sir Roger Moore, who read “The Carnival of the Animals” by Saint-Saëns with a brilliant success! Sir Roger Moore is the voluntary ambassador of UNICEF and a part of proceeds from the concert was moved to this charitable foundation. The list of participants of the Festival includes such known musicians as: David Geringas, Mischa Maisky, Julian Rachlin and many others. 

The first in Russian history Cello Festival was held in 2008 in Moscow. That is really that in country, which presented the World majority of the most talented and well-known cellists, such festivals, dedicated to this beautiful instrument, were never organized before. Organizers of the first festival devoted it in memory of Mstislav Rostropovich. Two living classical composers - Krzysztof Penderecki and Rodion Shchedrin have visited the Festival; at one concert, devoted to the great Maestro, their compositions were executed. Giovanni Sollima, the most unusual and very popular cellist, have also visited the festival and amazed Moscow audience with his performance. In addition to this, another great event of the festival was an appearance of famous 12 Cellists of Berlin Philharmonic. Musicians, who are members of the best orchestra of the world, independently travelled many times all over the world throughout 38 years of their existence. This was their first appearance in Russia.
